Concept 35mm - Mass Model shoot

An invitation was once again extended by this organiser.   Thanks for the opportunity. Fortunately we had good weather and sticking in the same group makes the whole shoot easier.  A smaller PG to model ratio allows a better choreography. Once again, thank you for to Concept 35mm for organising and all the great models for putting this well together! ...

EPL Masters Singapore Cup 2012

I had the opportunity to photograph this event upclose with the media.  Teams that came for this event were stars from yester-years such as Singapore Legends, Manchester United and Liverpool. The soccer fever is no doubt the best one could get and right at the bottom was where the action could be seen. ...

ONE Fighting Championship

I had the opportunity to get in close for the event with one of the organisers.  Credits to MOPSG and ONE Fighting Championship, I had this very rare opportunity. A great contest it had been and it is the first time I had photographed this a sport event. Photographs will be uploaded soo...

Mid Autumn 2012

I did all these shots in a day; the Mid Autumn Festival this year had been a little rush for me hence I did not have the opportunity to visit the various places before the actual day. Before dinner time, I managed to catch the iWeekly event at Parkway Parade, followed by a live performance of Chinese instruments in Compass Point. Clarke Quay had always been a prime area for such festivals and it had became rather commercialised; hence being on...

Mediacorp - S.N.A.P (熠熠星光总动员)

One of the talent-search event carried out by Mediacorp in Marina Square which I managed to catch the event "live". Below are some of the shots I have taken during the course of their scouting around the mall: ...

Heritage Trail - Joo Chiat

Another outing I had organised to have a look into another heritage town of Joo Chiat, which the prominent landmark of Joo Chiat Complex is a popular place for the Malay community during the festival of their fasting month. Weather had fortunately been sunny, and I had the opportunity to bump into an Australian writer, Pavle Radonic, who decided to live in Joo Chiat for a couple of months but had fell in love with this place and made it his home for the past 1.5 years.  We had a warm conversation and will definitely be meeting again soon. Venturing...

Heritage Connect@Tanjong Pagar Railway Station (former)

This event has been organised by the National Heritage Board and the former railway station's gates has once again been opened to the public. Lined in the carpark are more than 30 vintage cars including scooters and minibuses.  It is indeed an eye-opener for those living in the modern days to have a feel of the classic motorworks which are still a delight to many collectors today. ...

Upper Seletar & Bedok Reservoir

I decided to make a trip to the infamous rocket tower and tree by Upper Seletar Reservoir on a quiet afternoon. Weather was fair and it was certainly a good place where you can spot several small life forms if you sit down and observe things around you carefully: Moving on, I decided to take another pitch of sunset at Bedok Reservoir.  While waiting for the hour, I spotted a damselfly perched quietly on a blade of grass just below...

Gardens by the Bay - South

I decided to make my way to Gardens by the Bay South today as it was one of those good days where I could take some time to shoot with a different perspective - something I picked up from Francis yesterday. Being a big place, using the 'restricted space technique' would be a challenge as I have yet to fully explore the area. Anything requires us to start somewhere. The weather had started to turn wet after a couple of hours, so I have to wrap it up this time. Sent via my BlackBe...

National Parks - Fort Canning Park

I decided to categorise this under "Wild Trail" as it was not a usual approach where one would shoot the main landmarks / feature of this national park. This is my first visit with Francis and Nelson such an approach where one would work with a "given" limited space.  A visit to photography sites doesn't always require a regular approach.  Break that mindset and one can see far more things and seeing them differently: ...

Tampines Eco Green - a preview

Here's some of what I had taken today at Tampines Eco Green which more photos can be seen on my Facebook and Multiply album:  A thorough rainstorm earlier that made the air around the park freshe...

Tampines Eco Park revisit

I decided to do a revisit to Tampines Eco Green this afternoon - to discover more things. The afternoon began with a torrental rain which lasted for almost an hour before I could move out. There was another photographer who also sought refuge in the shelter in view of inclement weather. No double the place isn't huge, there's a pretty considerable array of things one can see, big birds like herons, swimming monitor lizards and several interesting plants. This is a perfect place for anyone who loves nature. If you own a set of macro lens, it's...

A glimpse of hope

I was listening to the local radio and Tanya Chua, the local singer was on air and shared about how challenging it was at times as she went about her singing career. It was at the lowest state when she first got recognition for her works by the Taiwanese entertainment arena which gave her that boost of encouragement to move on. Photographers alike as artists, we paint with light while singers paint with their voices, there are times when I shot so hard and could not get any form of recognition until one day, I was contacted by an ex colleague...

9tro / Westlake Tyres Mass Drifts and Models 2012

Today's one of the first events organised by 9tro Magazine & Westlake Tyres where they have invited selected number of people. Having the event held at a wide open space, it certainly was optimum for shooting both the cars and models who have been arranged for this event.  This is the first event I have attended, which is organised by Concept 35mm.   The location is well-chosen as it was off-site and had plenty of space for us to...
